What are serious games?

Serious games are based on real life challenges and simulate an alternate reality. They provide a simulated work environment that is safe and controlled where skills can be learned and practised. The games are not just meant for learning – they are fun, challenging and at times infuriating – which is why we love them.

Scientific basis

Our serious games simulations are rooted in neuroscience and the 3F model: Fun, Fear, and Focus ® by Friederike Fabritius. The model argues that by applying the 3 F’s, one has the ability to work more productively and improve their work performance. The balance between all three elements creates an immersive learning environment, which we used to design our games and masterclasses for outstanding team development training programs.

Fun

Live characters that you interact with and that challenge you to step out of your comfort zone. Using different types of media to engage and immerse you fully.

You will experience a rollercoaster of emotions and stress that leave you on a serotonin high that you have never experienced before.

Fear

Live character interactions, time and general pressure to solve the game lead to an emotional and cognitive load. These evoke stress, anxiety and fear that force you to adapt and be agile. Those emotions make you see the true value of applying the skills you learned.

Fear

Focus

Using intriguing storylines and narratives, participants are wholly immersed into the game and able to hold their attention in a way that ordinary learning does not. You will be able to focus much longer than you are used to.
